AnimeNYC 2023 was particularly special because of just how much anime continues to grow. More obscure, niche titles like my all-time-favorite manga Delicious in Dungeon are getting anime adaptations and creatives in both the American and Japanese side of things are getting the recognition and appreciation they deserve. It’s truly a great time to be an anime fan.
It was a celebration of the richness of Black culture, a showcase of artistic brilliance, and a testament to the power of inclusivity, reminding all who attended that they were part of something truly exceptional.
This is why I love local, smaller cons like Dover Comic Con. It’s the people, the sheer variety of art, and the love of pop culture that brings us all together.
Nothing prepared me for the awe-inspiring programming, the off-site activities, and the artistry within and outside the convention halls. SDCC has truly earned its reputation as the premiere spot for pop culture.
BlerdCon has once again outdid itself as one of the premiere Comic-Cons for Black and Brown people to come together and be “Nerdy, Blerdy, Flashy and Classy”. I love it.
AwesomeCon ’23’s, thrilling convention promises to leave fans eagerly awaiting grand adventures, unforgettable memories, and an experience that will make this convention one of the best cons on the East Coast. And this was only Friday.
If there’s one thing this spring’s Monster Mania has taught me, it’s that art comes in all shapes and sizes. From bleached clothes to horror sculptures and illustration, to even beef jerky – there’s no limit to what people can create.
Magfest was a great time, minus a few inconveniences with con policies and accommodations. Overall, this is probably the first gaming convention I've ever been to with the largest number of concerts dedicated to gaming.
