This latest installment introduces a new timeline, resulting in characters assuming fresh roles, different settings, and substantial gameplay modifications. While many things have been altered, there are still aspects that feel familiar from storyline to gameplay.
Each pillar of Slay the Princess builds upon itself, to create one of the most gripping and memorable gaming experiences I’ve had in a very long time.
The creators of certain game franchises are older than me, yet it's gratifying to witness some franchises successful attempts to reshape and enhance their “nostalgic IP” for a more modern era.
Do I still think Resident Evil 4 needed a remake? No.
Am I happy that it got one and with how it turned out? Absolutely.
Here’s Why…..
Evil West, is definitely a sleeper hit of 2022, and if you want a fun, action packed game, it's worth checking out, even with its $60 price tag.
The latest entry in the monster rancher series injects a unique twist – instead of raising human sized monsters, you raise skyscraper sized Kaiju, specifically ones from the various different Ultraman series!
Ever since the abrupt finale of Ash VS. Evil Dead, I’ve longed for something, anything to continue and finally conclude Ash Williams’ battle against the forces of evil and the Necronomicon. So, you can imagine my excitement when a video game based on the franchise was announced, and that the original stars of the series were returning to lend their voices and likenesses to the experience.
A beat’em up classic, Darksiders 3’ s Fury comes off as vain and egotistical; a far cry from War’s humble servitude, and Death’s sense of justice. She contributes nothing to the notion of heroism outside of the fact that she accomplishes her mission for the greater good. Like it or not, she is a hero, and a pretty good one at that.
No More Heroes 3 is an enjoyable game, but it’s also a disappointing sequel. It still has the same charm and wackiness as the previous entries, and as much as I love Suda 51's games, the substance here does continue to be a problem…
One year later, Streets of Rage 4 is still a great experience and an excellent revival of the series. With the DLC expansion, could it be one of the favorite games of 2021?
Guilty Gear has always been a fast paced and somewhat frantic fighter, that has a steep learning curve and as it oozes style, and complexity, does Guilty Gear Strive hold a “GUNFLAME!” to its predecessors?
SMT and Persona continues to increase in popularity. This is due in part to the characters, as well as the symbolism from ancient mythology in their plots. Even if you're not a turn-based RPG fan, there are multiple spin-offs among them that provide a quality experience. Here’s my review…
Pokémon has been something I’ve loved from a very young age, and to see them up close and personal with modern day graphics is truly wonderful to behold. For the original game, the novelty came in simply seeing Pokémon in 3D for the first time. But New Pokémon Snap takes full advantage of the Nintendo Switch’s hardware to render both the Pokémon and the world they live in in detail unseen before.
I have played life simulator games before, and I do like interesting stories. So judging the game on its own merits, could I recommend Cozy Grove…..? Hell Yeah I would….
Some of my favorite video game characters actually tend to be Black or African American and I wanted to talk about four of them, why I like them, their background, and possibly, how they inspire and impact me.
Scott Pilgrim VS. The World: The Game is, in my opinion, one of the greatest beat-em-up games ever made. It follows the same plot of the 2010 film, but more so than that, it’s an adaptation of the original comics, with expressive, detailed pixel art throughout every level and character sprite. This game is a profound revisit to my childhood.
In my opinion, the original Devil May Cry 5 was my favorite game of 2019 and arguably my favorite Devil May Cry game of the series. The graphics were gorgeous, despite taking a more grounded tone in the display. The music and sound effects were phenomenal, and the battle themes for the playable characters rocked…..but with DMC5: SE, we have the game’s illest protagonist …Vergil.
