Emerald Isle Lands in Bloomfield, NJ, USA
On April 21, 2022, the day that lies between the famous [4/20], and the international day known to all as Earth Day (April 22); New Jersey just legalized the sale of Cannabis Sativa for recreational use for New Jersey natives. In the creation of this law, many today flocked to their closest dispensary in an effort to consume, roll and smoke their favorite blends of the green “erbs” and “spices”. For some, just simply going into the store brings them back to good times, which probably involved a rock concert, a soulful gathering and, of course, a simple reminiscence of a song that they used to vibe to in days past. For others, it could be an attempt to get that “feel good feeling” that’s necessary for them to function in their daily life. Either way, all are now gathered here @ RISE Dispensary in Bloomfield, NJ on the corner of N. 15th St. and Bloomfield Ave, right on the cusp of Bloomfield and the Newark Border to get the Green Bud.
All were gathered here as the event was secured by both local security teams, RISE staff members and Bloomfield Police. As many waited to go inside the now famed Emerald Isle of dreams and green pleasures, the patrons consisted of an eclectic variety of both young and old (21 and over.) customers, followed by many, and i say many, varieties of races, creeds, and ethnicities. With traffic supervised by the Bloomfield Police, they were kind enough to direct traffic, and answer any questions patrons had in regard to the rules and regulations of the ownership of the green product. Yes, the times are a changing as RGN 99 witnessed today, for the history books, NJ’s Cannabis “Recreational” Legalization. Thanks Gov Murphy. This also became both a regional and local event as CBS News, News12 and Insta news sites came to report the now official “underground” holiday.
Aside from one patron being unruly, the gathering was a success as RISE staff members were friendly and helpful as they assisted those who were unaware of the ins and out of buying. Amazing; The Green Leaf bringing people together. Hopefully Woodstock 2022/2023 might take place in Brookdale Park; that would be amazing.
Bloomfield’s approach to becoming the “Greenwhich Village” of Essex County is slowly starting to take shape as its diverse bar scene is slowly starting to grow as well. From Gloria’s Bar and Grill to the Ash Lounge to la Santa to Six Points Pub, to the Famous Town Pub; Bloomfield is becoming the central hub for diversity and hopefully, creativity. The Emerald Isle’s grand opening might have sealed the deal for Bloomfield becoming one of the greatest places on Earth to live in IMO. As the line started at the back of the store, I couldn’t help but notice the food truck labeled, Glazed and Confused. Interstellar doughnuts of odd shapes and sizes, I caught a glance of a senior ordering some doughnuts with his RISE bag in his hand. Walking away with his sweet treats, he, like many of the patrons of the now famous Emerald Isle are starting to feel like a kid again.
“Happy 4/21”
Also, I had to mention this… On this glorious day, the staff of Omar’s Smoke Shop, strategically located across the street, gave “2 Blunts in the Air” to shoutout RISE with its grand opening for the recreational users.
2022 is starting to look better everyday!!!
