And on the 7th Day...Thanos Rested!!!
A week has passed in regards to the theatrical release of Avengers: Infinity War. At this point multiple reviews, critiques and analyses of the film has flooded the Internet and all have given their final diagnosis: the film has set the precedent as the movie event of the year, it is the new standard for superhero movies, and Marvel, in the hidden culture of superhero movies has created a CGI character that women want to be with. What I haven’t seen, however, is the emotional impact the movie had on the viewers, especially me. With that being said, I wish I could give you a great review of the movie and comment on the actors, but I can’t. After watching this movie…. I’m still shaken by what happened in the film. The movie literally took ‘half of me’ in terms of mind, body and soul and as I sit in front of this computer, pondering what will happen to the fate of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the Avengers franchise, I’m at a loss for words as to what to tell you, the audience, the readers, about the movie. …
So I will do this…
I will let my imagination guide me into what I think will be an adequate review of this Movie….
I hope you enjoy it.
‘….and on the next day, the Mad Titan, Thanos, rested. As he awakened the next day, he left his dwellings to gaze at the sunrise. He looked at the morning sky, gazed into its horizon and sat down on the grassy terrain as he reflected on his accomplishments. ‘I have worked hard,’ he said to himself as he looked at the sky. The Mad Titan is right; he has worked hard to achieve his goal. He has sacrificed his livelihood, his squad; the dark path, even his family, which includes his adopted daughter Gamora to achieve his destiny.
His vision for a grander universe, by eliminating half of every species in the universe, was met with resistance by the Avengers; Earth’s mightiest heroes, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange and if you look at the picture below, a whole host of other Marvel cinematic greats. And though they did not agree with Thanos’ plan for salvaging the universe, The Mad Titan persisted, preserved, and with great fervor, on a Saturday (I’m guessing) of all days, and with ‘snap of his’ fingers…’SNAP’…achieved the impossible.
Now comes the harder part, the fate of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Russo Brothers did a phenomenal job for the 10-year anniversary of the MCU and Avengers: Infinity War. Additionally, they also laid the groundwork for the next big blockbuster, Captain Marvel and Avengers 4, leaving me wondering what is going to happen in the next year, five years, even ten years. True, the internet is reaped with images of release dates for the next few movies, but the real predicament is who will be directing the next few movies, which actors will be leaving the MCU, who will be new to the MCU, will the University of Wakanda enroll Bruce Banner as a professor, and most importantly, what will the relationship between Nebula and Stark be like?’
Avengers: Infinity War will go down in history as one of the best MCU movies that can never be replicated by any other movie studio company ever. It has literally set the new standard for superhero movies.
