Infinity Wars: Twice in One Day!!!

Infinity Wars: Twice in One Day!!!

                                  Black Panther

In my opinion the last two Marvel movies pre-Infinity War, that were released have been amazing.  Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok have knocked it out the park with story, character development, action, and comedy.  Thor: Ragnarok brought new life to Thor on the big screen, and Black Panther has shown Hollywood that an all-black cast can break records at the box office.  Infinity War has done something unique that only Marvel has pulled off successfully.  It made me see a movie twice in one day!

No joke!  My friend Josh and I bought our tickets in advance, drove to the theatre right after work, bought our popcorn and got the best seats early. We went over our theories, and our kill list, and even messed around with Josh’s Infinity Gauntlet.  When the lights went off, everyone in the theatre became silent with anticipation.  No glaring lights from cell phones went off, no babies crying, and nobody yelling at the screen.  All of us laughed at the jokes, cried in horror when our favorite characters died, and gasped at cameos not thought possible.  There was a moment when it was revealed Wakanda was about to show, the audience clapped and whooped with joy! It brought joy to my heart to see people still proud and excited about Black Panther.  However when the movie came to it’s shocking conclusion there was a pregnant pause, then an outcry. No one could ever fathom the villain winning in a Marvel movie. 18 movies over a period of 10 years have always shown our heroes victorious, no matter how big or small the win.  All of us were confused and even some had tears in their eyes, including mine.

                        Infinity War: Avengers: 0 - Thanos: 1

People left the theatre questioning what they have seen, but Josh and I had to see it again.  There had to be a clue in the movie we must have missed to help us form our theories on how to defeat Thanos.  We left the theatre and bought a new round of snacks and bought new tickets. It took all of our will power to not spoil it for the new moviegoers.  Second time around went as well as the first viewing. We got our favorite seats again, the jokes still landed, I still cried when my favorite characters died.  The only thing that made the second viewing unbearable was this weird guy snoring loudly behind us! After we left the movies, I left with a deep sense of sadness.  There are rumors many of the characters killed in this film will remain deceased, and I shudder to find out in a year who shall remain in the grave. I still have questions I want answers too, but I can say for certain as long as Marvel Studios keeps up with the amazing work, it will all be worth the wait.

When my friends and I talked about the goings on in the film, I simply had to record it.  There were too many topics to discuss and I simply loved the sound of my voice! I decided to start my own podcast to talk about anything and everything pop culture and anything that holds my interest.  I introduce to you, ‘9 weeks til Sunday’ !!!

Region 99 Presents: 9weekstilSunday! A show were Maya Hanks & company talk about all things geeks, music, games, and anything that interests her!
